Time Square Protest: An amazing event occurred in Time Square on Wednesday, July 22. Thousands of people of different faiths and political views gathered to protest the treaty Secretary of State John Kerry negotiated with Iran. Their message was to stop this agreement because it gives Iran a clear path to nuclear weapons.  The majority of informed citizens share these protester’s fears.

If you, too, believe this is a dangerous treaty, it is time to send two messages to your Congressmen.  First, they must reject a deal that will likely result in the death of millions of Israeli and U. S. citizens. Second, they must remove John Kerry from office for negotiating a deal that assures Iran will develop nuclear weapons and the missiles to deliver them. He also repeatedly misled us throughout the negotiations.

Now that this bargain with the devil has been struck, President Obama is trying to sell its confirmation and tell us our only option is to work with Iran’s mad mullahs. He ignores the fact that we have a much better option. America can act unilaterally to put tough, new sanctions in place and do what is necessary to assure Iran never gets weapons of mass destruction.

President Obama and Secretary Kerry can no longer be trusted to protect the nation. Both acted with deceit by making this egregious treaty a fait accompli at the U.N. before Congress had a chance to review it. They also had State Department officials negotiate side deals that allow Iran to arm its surrogates throughout the Middle East.

We have less than two months to convince our elected representatives they must stop this treachery before it causes a nuclear war.

Governor Signs Landmark Public Safety Bill: SPRINGFIELD, Illinois – Governor Bruce Rauner signed SB 1304 today to create the Police and Community Improvement Act.

“Today we are taking steps to strengthen the relationship between our law enforcement officers and the public they protect with the Police and Community Improvement Act,” Governor Rauner said. “As a society, we must ensure the safety of both the public and law enforcement. SB 1304 establishes new and important guidelines and training for police departments and their officers, while protecting the public by prohibiting officers from using excessive force.  I thank the legislators who sponsored this bill. It will have a lasting and positive impact on the people of Illinois.”

Additional Background: Illinois is the first state in the country to pass comprehensive legislation that include procedures for police departments that utilize body cameras; establish reporting requirements for officers who make stops or arrests; crisis intervention and racial sensitivity training; and prohibits excessive force like choke holds.

Governor’s Request for Agricultural Disaster Declaration Approved – Federal assistance available for farmers impacted by heavy rainfall and flooding

SPRINGFIELD, IL—The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has granted the request of Governor Rauner for disaster designation in 87 Illinois counties and 14 contiguous counties that suffered losses due to rain and flooding this year.

“Illinois has suffered a lot of storm and rain damage throughout this Spring and Summer,” Rauner said. “I am pleased our request for federal assistance was granted and encourage farmers throughout these counties to contact their local Farm Service Agency for questions.”

The governor issued an official letter to USDA Secretary Vilsack on July 23, 2015. The 19 members of the Illinois Congressional Delegation also signed a letter to President Obama to endorse the governor’s request for this designation. Counties eligible for assistance were determined through the Loss Assessment Reports reviewed by the USDA.

“I am grateful to all the members of our Illinois Congressional delegation for their strong and united support for securing this assistance for farmers throughout the state,” Rauner added.

Farmers who believe they may be eligible for assistance should contact their county Farm Service Agency office.  Loan applications are considered on a case-by-case basis, taking into account the extent of losses, security available and applicant’s repayment ability.  Farmers who have questions should contact the state FSA office at (217) 241-6600.

Multitude of local authorities soak Illinois homeowners in taxes: Illinois Taxes FYI (at your retirement, you have to leave this state. This will last as far as the eye can see. Very large  deficit in the State and also in most of the municipalities….except Kenilworth, Lake Forest and other large elite locations.

The state is home to nearly 8,500 local government units, with 6,026 empowered to raise taxes, by far the highest number in the U.S… On average, Illinois’ effective property taxes are the third highest in the U.S. at 1.92 percent of residential property values, only behind New Jersey and New Hampshire…

Critics of both the high taxation and the state’s governance structure say that it takes too much of a toll on homeowners, discouraging people from either coming to the state or staying in it. Illinois saw net migration of 95,000 people out of the state last year, the greatest in its history and second only to New York, according to U.S. Census data

Obama On Iran – Obama: I realize that resorting to force may be tempting in the face of the rhetoric and behavior that emanates from parts of Iran. It is offensive. It is incendiary. We do take it seriously. But superpowers should not act impulsively in response to talks…

Just because Iranian hardliners chant ‘Death to America” does not mean that that’s what all Iranians believe. In fact, it’s those hardliners that are more satisfied with the status quo. It’s those hardliners chanting “death to America” who’ve been most opposed to the deal. They’re making common cause with the Republican Caucus.

Hillary Aide In trouble: August 8, 2015: In a letter sent to the U.S. State Department and just filed today with U.S. federal Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, the counsel for Cheryl Mills wrote: “Ms. Mills does not believe that she has paper copies of potential records in her possession.

Following our production on August 10, 2015 [of the defense counsel’s version of the electronic records], we have instructed her to delete any and all electronic records in her possession.” That is a far stretch from a statement by Ms. Mills under penalty of perjury, and she and her lawyers are planning to delete the emails Judge Sullivan wants produced?

Judicial Watch has made an emergency filing in Judge Sullivan’s court to stop the further destruction of evidence of what may very well be assorted criminal conduct and violations of numerous federal laws.

This all just surfaced in State Department’s status report filed today in response to Judge Sullivan’s order. Yesterday evening, State finally produced some correspondence between it and Hillary’s right and left hands—Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills. It has not produced its correspondence with Ms. Clinton, and it is now clear that Ms. Clinton, Ms. Abedin and Ms. Mills plan to thumb their noses at the Judge and the State Department. No one is “cooperating,” despite their empty rhetoric to the contrary.

Three Cheers For Daniel! – Daniel Snyder, owner of the NFL Redskins, has announced that the team is dropping the word “Washington” from the team name and it will henceforth be simply known as “The Redskins”. It was reported that he finds the word ‘Washington’ imparts a negative image of poor leadership, mismanagement, corruption, cheating, and lying, and is not a fitting role model for young fans of football.

Is This The New Modern Catholic Church? A non-political, clean, funny story for a change!  Enjoy! The elderly priest, speaking to the younger priest,  said, ”You had a good idea to replace the first four pews with plush bucket theater seats. It worked like a charm. The front of the church always fills first now.”

The young priest nodded, and the old priest continued, ”And you told me adding a little more beat to the  music would bring young people back to church, so I supported you when you brought in that rock ‘n roll gospel choir. Now our services are consistently packed to the balcony.”        ”Thank you,  Father,” answered the young priest. ”I am pleased that you are open to the new ideas of youth.”  ”All of these ideas have been well and good,” said the elderly priest, ”But I’m afraid you’ve gone too far with the drive-thru confessional.” ”But, Father,” protested the young  priest, ”my confessions and the donations have nearly doubled since I began that!” ”Yes,” replied the elderly priest, ”and I appreciate that. But the flashing neon sign, ‘Toot ‘n Tell or Go to Hell’ cannot stay on the church roof!”
